Building Effective and Powerful LINks - NALM
08/07/2010 Time: 11:00
National Association of LINk Members (NALM) is organising a special event for LINk members on Thursday, July 8th 2010 from 11am to 4.30pm at Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London, NW1. The purpose of the meeting is to develop a powerful case for the long-term sustainability and funding of LINks. We also want to review the effectiveness of the current LINK model and consider in what ways LINks could be strengthened or remodelled.
We have all been involved in developing LINks for the past two years. Now we need to convince the new government we have organisations that are effective as advocates for the whole community. We also need clear proposals to show how LINks can become more effective at a time when so many health and social care services could be under threat.
The event will be centred on workshops, each of which will generate recommendations for the Government. Within a week, a conference report containing these recommendations will be available for review by all LINks. The final document will provide Government Ministers with the collective vision of LINks members and affirm their commitment to being an influential voice for the communities they represent across the country.
We are open to suggestions on the content of workshops, but initially propose the following: funding – Hosting - LINk powers – sustainability - partnership with the statutory and voluntary sector - renaming LINks? - developing Healthwatch. The meeting will be followed by the NALM AGM.
All LINk members are welcome but booking priority will be given to NALM members.
If you would like to attend this event please contact the Bexley LINk office and we will provide you with a booking form.
