Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course learners will be able to:

Recognise the role of carers in supporting people with
Explore the needs of carers in supporting people with dementia
Describe the difficulties carers face in relation to health and social care practitioners and how these might be overcome
Describe the difficulties professionals face in relation to carers and how these might be overcome
Consider effective ways of supporting carers of people with dementia appropriately 
Demonstrate their improved knowledge of the law as it relates to Carers Assessments and Carers Rights and in respect of the National Dementia Strategy
Reflect on dementia care practice issues and explore possible ways forward
Explore ways in which to recognise and identify carers in their services
Identify services and support that are available to carers locally and where appropriate nationally.
